Choose The Smile
It has been so long since I wrote in my “Things I Know” blog, that I thought it best to continue in an entirely new blog... so, here we go... If you’ve read anything I’ve written in the past, you know I am a firm believer in choices. Thousands of choices that we make every day that seem small at the time but can change the course of our lives. I feel compelled to write about these small, seemingly unimportant choices often. This morning, I was thinking about how easy it is to see a person’s mood or disposition through the expressions on their face, and how now, in the throws of this pandemic, with our faces covered by masks, it is not as easy. Oh sure, we can still see a smile if it reaches the eyes or a furrowed brow, but how much are we missing? And more importantly, how much of what we interpret in the face of another is based on our own mood or disposition?
